Tatra Trucks is one of the oldest automakers in the world and the largest manufacturer of trucks and commercial vehicles in the Czech Republic. The company was founded in 1850 and in recent decades has exclusively manufactured medium and heavy trucks. It has been part of the Czechoslovak Group and Promet Group since 2013.

It produces trucks for the military, construction, mining, forestry, agriculture, and firefighting.

It produces military special-purpose vehicles with enhanced ballistic protection for the crew and special technical solutions for vehicles according to individual customer requirements.

It uses a unique chassis concept with a central support tube and swing half-axles with independent wheel suspension.
